Boblingen ride areas

Hi,

I am finding out that riding Enduro (trails, mountain, fire roads) is not exactly easy in BW or Germany in general. I have only found one place, Marco Dorsch's place up north. I am hoping that someone will see this and give me some advice on where to go.

I will be very sad if I can't ride my Rieju while I am here 4 years.

Ich stelle fest, dass Endurofahren (Trails, Berge, Waldwege) in BW oder Deutschland allgemein nicht gerade einfach ist. Ich habe nur einen Ort gefunden, Marco Dorschs Ort im Norden. Ich hoffe, dass jemand das sieht und mir einen Rat gibt, wohin ich gehen soll.

Well, looks like I will be riding it anyways regardless of the availability of off-road areas....

Hi buddy,
you passed the first step and got the bike registered, well done.
Ohervise I can only refer again to what I replied to you on "the other" forum, just going bush is probably not possible anymore in Germany.
It was already quite difficult when I left for downunder 20 years ago and then ( I am from the other side of Stuttgart) there was a loophole which was not strictly legal but kind of accepted:
the small stretch of unused land right and left from the Autobahn.

Maybe others can throw in some confirmation / comments but at the time that stretch it was not really maintained and I was able to use it especially an early on a rainy day.
The few people I met, usually farmers or forest workers never complained and beside the fact it was not legal I was obviously not causing any nuisance or noise pollution being next to the Autobahn.
As said that experience is quite old but I guess keeping a low profile is still key which might be difficult close to a metropolitan area like Stuttgart.

Alternatively, if you have a trailer or some other bike transport option, the border to France is not too far and a friend of me living close to Achern is still going riding on the other side of the border.
It seems like France is still a bit more relaxed as long as you apply a bit of common sense when an where to ride.

Or get into some level of enduro competition. There are plenty of events on several levels but you need approved gear (eg. helmet Armour) and a motorsport license

If you have the possibility, come to Bilstain in two weeks time. Many active riders will be there on the weekend of Nov-09.
