i have looked into a spare RPM Counter of a RD04 of 92.
Yours must be from 1991 cause it looks on the photo that you do not have the sidestand light in the RPM Counter inside.
Do you have a sidestand light externally ? If so the build of the RD04 is 1991.

Anyhow, the colours Robbe told you are correct as i looked inside the RPM Counter tonight.

The other component is burned too, so you should look if the connections between the components are ok.

Hey all

Now i tryed my tacho with the 2 new komponent, but it diddent help , its still all dead .

Any of you know, what else could be the problem ?

- maybe its that big black thing, IC , with 16 legs ? or maybe the CDI ?

Is it the tacho or the rpm counter ?

Check the circuit path between the components. It might be that there is something blown by the heavy voltage which passed thru.

If you need the tacho and it is really a 92 RD04 then i do have a spare one.

Hi Christian,

no it is not the same.
The rpm counter (or revmeter) does count the rpm's of the engine, the tacho does show you the kilometers per Hour (how fast you are)
Therefore if the tacho is dead this will only influence the tripmaster as the mechanical signal from the fronttire will be changed into an electrical signal for the Tripmaster.
If the rpmcounter (revmeter) is not showing anything it is just that you do not know the rpm's of the engine.
